Why I’m Running
Too often, decisions in Concord are made without enough attention to how they affect the people and communities of the North Country.
I’m running because Coös County deserves a strong voice in those decisions. We need practical solutions to the pressures facing our communities, from property taxes and education funding to housing, health care and the basic local services we depend on.
I won’t go to Concord to simply follow a party line. I’ll listen, ask questions, work with people who are serious about solving problems, and speak up when a proposal doesn’t make sense for the North Country.
North Country Priorities
The challenges facing the North Country are connected. High property taxes, the cost of education, shortages of housing and workers, and the difficulty of maintaining essential services all affect whether our communities can remain places where people can build a life.
PROPERTY TAXES & EDUCATION
New Hampshire's reliance on local property taxes puts enormous pressure on communities with limited tax bases. We need a fairer approach to funding education that doesn't keep shifting the burden onto local taxpayers.
STRONG RURAL COMMUNITIES
Housing, health care, child care, roads, broadband, fire and EMS aren't abstract policy questions here. They're part of what makes it possible to live, work and raise a family in the North Country.
PRACTICAL GOVERNMENT
Government should be careful with taxpayers' money, respect local communities and deliver the basic services people depend on. Good ideas should matter more than which party proposed them.
Meet Jay
I first fell in love with New Hampshire more than four decades ago. When Kris and I eventually had the chance to make the North Country our home, we knew this was where we wanted to be.
I spent my career in technology, helping build successful businesses and solving complicated problems. Today, much of my time is devoted to our community: serving as Dalton Town Moderator, volunteering with Dalton Fire Rescue, volunteering as manager of our local airport, and volunteering to teach young people to fly.
I’m running for State Representative because I believe that experience, practical problem-solving and a willingness to listen can be useful in Concord, especially when it comes to making sure the North Country isn't overlooked.
